Privacy at OC Contracts
OC Contracts / Ontario Construction Contracts uses contractor information to provide and operate its Ontario opportunity-matching service. This page explains what we collect, why we use it, when service providers may process it, and how to contact us about your information.
Information we collect
- Contractor profile information: business name, business email, primary trade, Ontario home base or service area, travel distance, preferred job sizes, work types, public-project preferences, and bid-readiness information you choose to provide.
- Service and communication information: signup and lifecycle status, opportunity matches, email delivery and response status, unsubscribe/suppression status, and basic interaction events used to operate the service and avoid duplicate communications.
- Billing information: payment and subscription status, Stripe customer/subscription identifiers, and related billing events. Payment card details are handled by Stripe and are not collected by OC Contracts through the contractor profile form.
- Technical information: information reasonably required to secure and operate the website and its infrastructure, such as request metadata and system logs generated by our service providers.
How we use information
We use information to create and maintain contractor profiles, match Ontario public construction opportunities to contractor preferences, deliver eligible alerts and service messages, administer Free and Paid service levels, process support requests, honour unsubscribe requests, prevent duplicate or improper communications, secure the service, troubleshoot errors, and improve matching quality.
Service providers
OC Contracts uses service providers where reasonably necessary to operate the service. These may include website and infrastructure providers such as Cloudflare, workspace and operational-data providers such as Google, payment processing through Stripe, and email-delivery providers. They may process information on our behalf for the services they provide. We do not sell personal information.
Public procurement information
Opportunity information may come from public procurement sources and buyer-operated or third-party procurement portals. OC Contracts provides informational matching and links back to official procurement sources. Contractors should verify current requirements, documents, addenda, eligibility and deadlines with the official source before deciding to bid.
Retention and suppression records
We retain contractor and operational records for as long as reasonably needed to provide the service, maintain security and accounting records, resolve disputes, and meet legal or operational obligations. If you unsubscribe, limited suppression information may be retained so we can continue to honour that request and avoid sending future promotional outreach to the same address.
Your choices and requests
You may contact us to ask about the information associated with your contractor profile, request access or correction, ask us to stop promotional communications, or request deletion where applicable. Some records may need to be retained where reasonably required for legal, security, billing, fraud-prevention, or unsubscribe-compliance purposes.
